Prep Basketball: Carroll girls notch win, Elzy's Miller named all-star

The Lady Rebels and Rebels played home games against Canton Academy Thursday night in Carrollton.
The girls earned a 32-26 win over the Lady Panthers to improve to 8-15 overall and 2-3 in District 3-4A. Carroll led 8-4 after the first period, 22-10 at the half and 27-16 after the third frame.

To do that work well takes skilled reporters and editors, as many as a community can support through advertising, subscriptions and philanthropy.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
