Trenton Smith spearheaded a Greenwood High School defense in leading the Bulldogs to a 22-14 win over Yazoo City last week to earn the Commonwealth’s Defensive Player of the Week honor.
Smith, a 6-foot-1, 200-pound linebacker, finished the contest with 14 tackles and broke up four passes as Greenwood improved to 2-0 on the young season.
