Prep Roundup: Pillow soccer continues to roll, volleyball teams win

The Pillow Academy girls soccer team won its seventh straight game with a 5-0 victory over Heritage Academy Tuesday in Columbus.
The Lady Mustangs (12-2-1 overall) got two goals from senior Addison Weems and one each from freshmen Riley Coleman and Karen Hernandez. Pillow got a fifth goal off a deflection on a corner kick.

Prep Roundup: Pillow softball holds off late Marshall Academy surge for win

Pillow Academy’s girls fast-pitch softball team held off a late charge by Marshall Academy to post a 5-3 win Monday in Holly Springs.
The Lady Mustangs (9-12 overall) scored three runs in the third frame and two in the fifth inning. Marshall scored one run in the second and two in the sixth.

Leflore County High School unleashed its aerial attack on the Leland Cubs last week in picking up a 30-14 win to improve to 3-1 on the season.
Leading the way was first-year quarterback Dereous Martin, who moved over from the defensive side of the ball to take over at quarterback this season.
