A proposal in the Mississippi Legislature would consolidate the Greenwood and Leflore County school districts into a single district by July 1, 2015.
The bill, written by Senate Education Committee Chairman Gray Tollison, R-Oxford, calls for a new five-member countywide school board to be elected in November.
