A former Mississippi state legislator has been retained by the Greenwood School Board to help advocate for changes to a bill that would consolidate the Greenwood and Leflore County school districts.
The board voted Thursday to hire Bob Dearing, a Democrat who represented Natchez in the state Senate from 1980 to 2011.
