Pillow teams roll into semifinals

The Pillow Academy Mustangs cruised through the first round of the North AAAA tournament as Shane Houston Stephens toasted Leake for a game-high 21 points.

The Mustangs, the top seed from District 1, led 42-21 at the half and walked away a 72-40 winner while ending Leake’s season Wednesday night in Senatobia.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
