Rebels turn attention to LSU

In a 38-17 win over Kent State Saturday, Ole Miss exploded in the second half to finish the game with 651 total yards.

Jordan Ta’amu threw for 442 yards, two touchdowns and ran for another score. Scottie Phillips ran for 112 yards and a touchdown and also caught a 38-yard touchdown pass.

Bullies suffer humbling loss before Mullen returns

No. 23 Mississippi State enters “Dan Mullen Week” on a down note.

The Bulldogs lost 28-7 at unranked Kentucky on Saturday night as Wildcats’ running back Benny Snell rushed for 165 yards and four touchdowns.

The Bulldogs hoped to be unbeaten when they face Mullen, their former coach, at 5 p.m. in Starkville in an ESPN telecast.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
