Valley hosts A&M today

Mississippi Valley State has had a week to regroup.

MVSU (2-13) lost its SWAC opener, 64-52, at Arkansas-Pine Bluff, last Saturday and will host Alabama A&M today in its second conference game of the season.

Martaveous McKnight scored 25 points on 8-of-10 shooting against the Delta Devils.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
