Jackson State says Mississippi Valley State used a player who wasn’t qualified to still be in the game in its win over the Tigers last Saturday.

MVSU star Marcus Romain scored two buckets in the final 20 seconds of the second half to force overtime, where Valley outscored JSU for a 70-67 victory.

PA Mustangs notch fourth straight victory

After a one-run loss to start the baseball season, Pillow Academy won its fourth straight Tuesday at home with a 7-6 decision over Cleveland High School.

Senior Triston Burden picked up the win on the mound in relief and had two hits and drove in a pair of runs to help the Mustangs to victory.
