DSU ready for better days ahead

In 2017, it’s all about redemption for Delta State.

That’s the feeling in Cleveland after DSU went 2-8 last season — its first losing record since 2012 — that included a 1-7 mark in the Gulf South Conference. The were 3-5 record in league play on the field but had to forfeit two games due to the use of two ineligible players.

If you believe the preseason Amway Coaches Poll, the Big Ten has surpassed the SEC as the supreme conference in football.

While the SEC boasts the nation’s No. 1 team in Alabama, the coaches have put four Big Ten teams in the top 10 to start the season. ’Bama is the only SEC team in the top 10.
