Greyhound bus and SUV collide in northern Alabama, killing motorist

ARDMORE, Ala. (AP) — A Greyhound bus and a car collided on a northern Alabama road, killing a man and injuring the bus driver and eight bus passengers, authorities said Tuesday.

The crash happened shortly after 10 p.m. Monday, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said.

Court won’t take up former friar’s appeal

JACKSON — The Mississippi Supreme Court will not consider an appeal from a former Franciscan friar who was convicted in 2022 in the 1990s sexual abuse of a student at a Catholic school in Greenwood.
The court decision was announced Thursday, and it means the conviction of Paul West remains in place.
