Civil rights tour

State Sen. David Jordan, D-Greenwood, leads a group from three Indiana colleges on a civil rights tour of downtown Greenwood around noon Tuesday. The students from Earlham College, Goshen College and Fordham are on a three-week tour to explore civil rights history in the South. After their visit to Greenwood, they left for Jackson.

Supervisors vary on county vehicle use

Mississippi law allows county supervisors to drive a county-owned vehicle only while performing official duties, and gas expenses from this perk vary widely among the Leflore County Board of Supervisors.

At the bottom of that variation is District 1 Supervisor Phil Wolfe, who doesn't have a county vehicle.

'Monday Night Musical'

Good News Ministries celebrated the end of another after-school tutoring season with a "Monday Night Musical" at Providence Missionary Baptist Church. The event, which was held in memory of Marian Joyce Land Lymon, featured performances by a number of students who participate in the program.
