JACKSON - The Mississippi Supreme Court has ruled that legislators, not district judges, are responsible for drawing congressional district lines.
The justices, in a 6-2 decision Thursday, emphatically said the Mississippi Constitution, state law and past court rulings give that authority only to the Legislature.
