JACKSON - An industry-driven bill requiring pawnshops to give more details on their transactions improves the reputation of a much maligned business, says Jackson store owner Ryan Hood.
Pawnshops must report to police the identity of people pawning goods, and the items they pawn. That law was passed in 1993.
