VICKSBURG - Gov. Haley Barbour has been steadfast on this "no new taxes" thing. Before the 2005 session began, for the past three months and as the session's panicky ending neared, Barbour has maintained that making more dollars available to legislators is akin to pouring gasoline on a fire.
