JACKSON - Attorney General Jim Hood said the state could know by the end of the week whether it will take over a closed beef processing plant.
Richard N. Hall Jr., president of Mississippi Beef Processors, defaulted on a $35 million state-guaranteed loan from Community Bank. The plant has cost taxpayers $54 million to date.
