The August primary for countywide offices has already drawn the interest of 16 citizens in Leflore County, including incumbents, returning challengers and newcomers.
The Aug. 6 primary election will be followed by an Aug. 27 primary runoff election, if needed, leading up to the Nov. 5 general election.
