The legislative seat vacated last December by Willie J. Perkins Sr. when he was elected as a chancery judge drew the most interest from candidates who filed qualifying papers to get on the ballot.
As the Friday deadline passed, the House District 32 position drew interest from two Democrats and three independent candidates.
