(Photos by Ed Blackstone) Pillow Academy pulled out a 3-2 match win at Heritage Academy Monday night. The Lady Mustangs won the second set 25-20, the third set 25-12 and the fifth set 22-20. Heritage took the first set 25-14 and the fourth set 25-23. The JV won its match 2-0 over Heritage. In the first photo, Molly Blackstone goes low to save the ball to set up a return during one of the sets. In the second photo, senior Lillie Brooks Flautt blocks a ball back over the net as two Heritage players closely watch. Pillow entertains West Memphis Thursday at Scott Gymnasium.

Pillow hosting two teams Thursday for scrimmage

Pillow Academy will host Parklane Academy from McComb and Winona Christian School in scrimmage games at 6 p.m. Thursday at Bill Davis Field.
The Mustangs get the season going on Aug. 22 at Winston Academy.

Girls Fast-Pitch Softball: Lady Rebs notch first win, 11-1

The Carroll Academy girls fast-pitch softball team broke through in the win column with an 11-1 victory over Heritage Academy Tuesday in Columbus.
The Lady Rebels (1-4) tallied six runs in the first inning and five in the fourth. Heritage scored its lone run in the second.
