Carroll gets off to fast start in district

Carroll Academy brought down the hammer Friday night as the Rebels posted a 33-6 win over District 2-2A foe Greenville Christian School in Greenville.
The Rebels (2-1 overall, 1-0 in district) ran the ball 49 times for 252 yards and threw for 131 yards to finish with 383 yards of total offense.

Weaver promoted to interim GHS head coach

Cary Weaver has been named the interim head football coach at Greenwood High School.
The announcement follows the promotion of head coach Clinton Gatewood to assistant superintendent of the Greenwood Leflore Consolidated School District during the school board’s monthly meeting Tuesday night.

Oceanic wave of turquoise signals a change is coming

I first noticed it growing along the roadsides about four weeks ago. Barely a foot tall, I recognized it right off. Now, a month later, it shimmers in the breeze offering an iridescent hue, resembling that of an oceanic wave of turquoise.

Leflore County, Elzy travel for second games
