The Pillow Academy and J.Z. George archery teams got their 2022 seasons going Tuesday with a shoot at J.Z. George’s gymnasium in North Carrollton.
Winona High School also took part in the three-team shoot, winning the competition with 2,595 team points. Pillow came in second with 2,573 points, and J.Z. George was last with 2,421 points.
For Pillow, sophomore Emma Hodges was its top scorer with 253 points.
Eighth grader Story Jacobson was next with 243 points, and senior Luke Hyde shot a 242. Seventh grader Wyatt Saia shot a 226, and ninth grader Owen Hodges shot 220.
Freshman Hartley Kittle shot 216, and seventh grader Samuel Pittman shot 208. Junior Khyra Ware shot a 204, and eighth grader Tai Le shot 201. Ninth grader Carter Nunley shot 191, and eighth grader Wyatt Mims shot 186. Freshman Bailey Overstreet shot a 183.
For J.Z. George, Colten Acy was the top male shooter with a 262. Tyler Duren shot a 220, and Richard Foster had a 215. Mikhail Sanders shot 204, and Jayden Cornish shot 187. Charles Ansley shot a 186, and Jayden Stewart had a 173. Wesley Wilbanks shot 167.
For the girls, Emma Holdiness had J.Z. George’s top score with a 233. Christin Bankston shot 213, and Khadejah Davis shot a 187. Mackenzie Mims shot 174, and Rana Al-Rabahi had a 159. Abby Gail Clardy shot a 156, and Madison Chenault shot a 136. Jakilya Ghoston shot 96.
J.Z. George had a shoot at Winona Thursday. Pillow’s next shoot is scheduled for next Thursday at Winona High School.
