The Greenwood High Lady Bulldogs got 19 points and 12 rebounds from Janaya Scott in defeating Rosa Fort 45-14 Tuesday night in Tunica.
Scott also had three steals for the 7-13 Lady Bulldogs, who led 18-4 after one and 36-4 at the half.
Alexus Taylor tacked on 11 points, four steals and three rebounds, and Arieyanna Glover had eight points, 11 steals, four assists and blocked two shots.
Greenwood goes to Region 3-4A foe Yazoo City Friday night.
- Pillow Academy: The Lady Mustangs closed out District 1-5A play with a perfect 10-0 mark as they beat Bayou Academy 63-26 Tuesday night in Cleveland.
Pillow, 24-4 overall, trailed 9-6 after the first quarter and only led 21-18 at the half. A 29-3 outburst in the third period gave the Lady Mustangs a commanding 50-21 advantage headed to the fourth quarter.
Sarah Presley Howard led Pillow with 20 points and two assists. Larkin Camp tacked on eight points, and Madeline Mattox had seven points and five rebounds.
Avery Howard tallied six points, grabbed seven rebounds and made five steals, and Lola Harris had six points and five boards. Elise Howard had five points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals.
In the junior high girls game, the Lady Mustangs closed out district play with a 44-33 win over Bayou to improve to 18-2 overall and finish 10-0 in league action. Alanna Hodo led Pillow with 15 points and six rebounds, and Jimee Brooke Garrett had 13 points and 10 boards.
In the junior high boys game, the Colts prevailed 44-20 to drop the Mustangs to 7-11 and 3-7 in district. Landon Shackleford and Wynn Hardin had four points each.
Pillow’s games with East Rankin have been canceled Friday as ERA has a district game to make up.
- Amanda Elzy: The Lady Panthers fell to 4-13 overall and 1-4 in Region 3-3A play with a 66-45 loss at Thomas E. Edwards (Ruleville) Tuesday night.
Ruleville led 16-12 after one, 34-24 at the half and 47-34 after the third period.
Zoreya Beckworth led Elzy with 16 points. Evelyn Wilson had 11, and Kennedy Johnson tacked on nine.
Amanda Elzy goes to Yazoo County Tuesday.
- Carroll Academy: The Lady Rebels closed out District 2-4A play with a 44-11 triumph over Indianola Academy Monday in Carrollton.
Carroll (10-11), which led 30-5 at the half, was led by Bella Carter’s 16 points. Anna Laken Taylor had 11 points and 11 rebounds, and Dru Chamblee tacked on six points. Meri Brynn Reeves pulled down 12 rebounds and scored five points.
In the boys game, the Rebels dropped a 51-35 decision to the Colonels to fall to 6-11 and finish 1-7 in league action. IA led 7-5 after one, 24-13 at the half and 38-23 after the third period.
Noah Beck paced Carroll with 11 points. Mathis Beck had eight, and Landon Grantham tallied seven.
In the junior high boys game, Carroll won 31-17 to improve to 16-2 and go 8-0 in district. Nathan Matthews led a balanced attack with 10 points. Collin Hurst had seven, and Cohen Blaylock tacked on six.
- Delta Streets Academy: The Lions ended the regular season with a 69-27 loss to Greenville St. Joe Monday night at MVSU.
