HUNTING LEASE BID
INSTRUCTIONS
SUNFLOWER COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI
Notice is hereby given by the Sunflower County Consolidated School District Board of Education that it will receive sealed bids until 10:00 AM on the 15th day of August 2025 in the office of the Sunflower County Consolidated School District, Central Office, at 196 Martin Luther King Blvd., Indianola, Mississippi 38751 for 16th Section Hunting Leases described below, at which time the sealed bids will be publicly opened. The Bids will be awarded to the highest and best bidder. To be considered, a sealed bid must be received by the Sunflower County Consolidated School District at the above address on or before the time and date indicated.
FOR A HUNTING LEASE AS FOLLOWS:
1. 16-17N-5W 260.00 acres for 5 yrs. Beginning July 1, 2025 and ending June 30, 2030
For bids to be considered, bidders must submit bids on forms prepared by the Sunflower County Consolidated School District and must comply with all provisions of the bid forms and this public notice. The bid forms may be obtained from the Sunflower County Consolidated School District, Central Office, at 196 Martin Luther King Blvd., Indianola, Mississippi 38751. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope addressed to the Sunflower County Consolidated School District, clearly marked on the front and back of the envelope “Bid for Hunting Lease with the number of acres and the township and range indicated”.
The Sunflower County Consolidated School District Board of Education, or their designee, will open and read aloud the sealed bids received in accordance with the requirements and the public notice and the provisions of the bid form at 10:00 AM on the 15th day of August 2025 in the Office of the Sunflower County Consolidated School District, Central Office, at 196 Martin Luther King Blvd., Indianola, Mississippi 38751. All bidders are advised that an auction may be held among those present who submitted bids. All bidders are advised to be present at the opening of the sealed bids, either in person, or through a duly authorized representative notified of in writing, to protect their rights to participate in an auction, should it take place. Upon awarding of the bid, the successful bidder will be required to provide the balance of 10% of the awarded bid, should the awarded bid be higher than the successful bidders original bid.
The Sunflower County Consolidated School District Board of Education reserves the right to reject any and all bids submitted and to waive irregularities.
