Pillow Academy’s girls soccer team snapped a two-game skid with a 4-1 win at Heritage Academy Tuesday in Columbus.
The Lady Mustangs (3-2 overall, 1-1 in District 1-5A) got goals from Addison Weems, Alanna Hodo, Elise Howard and Yasmin Martinez.
Pillow plays host to MRA Thursday. The JV game starts at 5 p.m. followed by the varsity contest.
-Carroll softball: The Lady Rebels had their four-game winning streak come to a halt Tuesday as Winona Christian claimed a 10-0 District 2-4A win in Winona.
WCS scored two runs each in the third and fourth innings and six in the fifth.
Peyton Perry (8-5) took the loss in the circle, allowing 12 hits and fanning three.
Bella Carter, Presley Woods and Shelbi Laine Kelly had a single each.
Carroll (8-5 overall, 3-1 in district) hosts Greenville St. Joe Monday.
-Volleyball roundup: Leflore County’s girls volleyball team recorded its first win of the young season with a 3-1 match victory at Clarksdale High Tuesday.
The Lady Tigers (1-1) claimed the first two sets, 25-22 and 25-20. Clarksdale won the third set, 25-11, but Leflore rebounded to take the fourth set, 25-20.
Leflore visits Holmes County Thursday.
The Amanda Elzy girls put up a good fight in their opener at Holmes County Central, falling 3-2. Holmes won the first set, 25-7, and Elzy went up 2-1 by winning sets two and three, 25-23 and 26-24. Holmes won the next two sets, 25-18 and 15-7.
Elzy hosts McEvans Thursday.
Also, J.Z. George dropped a 3-0 decision to visiting Eupora High School Tuesday. The Lady Eagles won the sets with scores of 25-8, 25-15 and 25-11.
