The Pillow Academy girls moved to 4-0 in District 1-5A play with a 65-29 win over Magnolia Heights Tuesday night in Senatobia.
The Lady Mustangs (12-5 overall) jumped out to a 19-4 lead after the first period and led 35-19 at the half. A 19-5 run in the third quarter gave Pillow a 54-24 lead headed to the final period.
Addison Weems led the way for the Lady Mustangs with 20 points, six steals and three rebounds. Avery Hodges had 13 points, five rebounds, five steals, five blocked shots and three assists.
Elise Howard chipped in nine points, five steals, four boards and two assists, and Ella Wallace had nine points and two rebounds. Alanna Hodo had six points, five rebounds and two steals.
In the boys game, the Chiefs cruised to a 60-34 win over the Mustangs, who slip to 5-11 overall and 1-3 in conference. Magnolia Heights led 12-7 after one, 28-9 at the half and 48-19 after the third period.
Matthew Ryan Smith had seven points and three assists, and Cameron Lee had seven points and three assists for PA.
In the junior high girls game, Pillow won 45-39 to improve to 10-4 overall. The Lady Mustangs trailed 9-8 after one but took an 18-13 lead by halftime. They led 35-19 after the third frame.
Sara Michael Lary led the way with 11 points, two assists and two steals. Jane Kimmel Buford had 11 points, 10 rebounds and six steals, and Macy Lamb finished with nine points, five rebounds, four steals and two assists. Izzy Hodges chipped in five points, three rebounds, four steals and three assists.
In the junior high boys game, Pillow lost 71-37 as Magnolia Heights led 24-9 after one, 42-27 at the half and 57-33 after the third period.
Aiden Valente had 12 points and five rebounds. Charlie Dunn tacked on eight points and four rebounds, and Wynn Hardin had eight points and six boards.
Pillow plays at Bayou Academy Thursday and hosts Winona Christian School Friday.
