Delbert Hosemann has to be considered the favorite to win the race for Mississippi lieutenant governor this year.
The current secretary of state has the name recognition, a good track record and the Republican imprimatur, which should be enough to fend off his Democratic challenger, state Rep. Jay Hughes.
