God and politics
It always amazes me when I read comments from Democrats who vote Republican, and they always use God and God words for doing so.
All one has to do is to read where they always go with their comments. They always, always go to the lie that there are some people who don’t want to work. And everyone knows that they are talking about black people.
God doesn’t belong to any one person, but to anyone who will accept him.
The Republicans believe that if a person doesn’t have health insurance, let him die. Once a baby is born, he or she needs a lot of love and care from their parents and others who love our country.
God is love, not hate. Hate is a sin. Always pray for others.
Slaying suspect
Regarding the article “Arrest made in Itta Bena slaying” (Sept. 18):
Who is the suspect? How can he be held in secret without divulging his name? Wasn’t his arrest and detention entered in the jail docket? How can he be held longer than 48 hours without being charged?
John Pittman Hey
Editor’s note: The suspect was booked and jailed on a separate unrelated charge. Generally the Commonwealth does not identify suspects until they are formally charged with the crime for which they are being investigated.
Adrian Brown
Regarding the article “Felon seeks contract with county” (Sept. 12):
Citizens of Leflore County, you really need to find out who started this witch hunt on our native son, Adrian Brown. He paid his dues. He rates a chance to have a productive life, like all the felons you have on the payroll.
He offered his proven services for free, and you got a problem with it. Sounds like a fox in the henhouse to me.

New store
Regarding the article “New farm store coming to city in 2013” (Sept. 18):
Kudos, Greenwood!
We need to attract other business and be the Tupelo of the Delta.
We need to work on our infrastructure as well. Can we not get lighting on U.S. 82 running throughout Greenwood? We’re too dark.
We need to start planning and developing for growth.
