Leflore school board
I attended the meeting of the Leflore County School Board Monday night. I have to comment on the unprofessional behavior exhibited by a couple of members of the board.
It seems that there is still some “bad blood” being exhibited by certain members of the board who seem to have a personal vendetta against the new superintendent. You could look at their expressions and see the attitude that they held. Some of their comments made no sense. It was very obvious that these members had no knowledge of the proper procedures. The board members obviously need training in proper procedures and professionalism.
The district exists to serve the children of Leflore County. The board exists (and gets paid) to serve the children of Leflore County. Personal issues between adults have no place in the business of serving children.

Uniform car tag
Regarding the article “Jennings: State needs uniform car tag fees” (Oct. 9):
If Greenwood does not get these revenues from car tags, who does?
I know I can't afford to buy a new car because of the price of the tag. I get good used older-model cars instead.
Great idea, Johnny.

Voter fraud
Regarding the letter to the editor by Willie Griffin (“Where’s the evidence of fraud at the polls?” Oct. 8):
All you have to do is look at the court records. One comes to mind. In 1991, a Leflore County supervisor proved in court that dead people and people who lived outside the county voted.
Also, I have witnessed a number of students at Mississippi Valley State University voting four or five times under different names. All you have to do is get a copy of the poll books and pick names of people who are no longer in school there. (There are a lot more names than students.)
Walk down the hall of the polling place. Say, “My name is Joe Blow.” “Yes, here is your name. Sign and vote.”
A couple of hours later, the same person walks down to the polling place and says, “My name is John Brown.” “Yes, here is your name. Sign and vote.”
And so on. Simple, ain’t it?
All eight universities are probably doing it, too.
