C. Brown’s column
Regarding Curressia M. Brown’s op-ed column (“The meanings of success,” June 13):
Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Brown for your insight.
Parents in the Leflore County and Greenwood Public School Districts, educate yourselves. Everything is not always what it you think it is. Be careful of false labels.

Dr. Curressia Brown, this is clear, concise and to the point. If anybody wants to know what these ratings mean, this column allows them to accomplish that.
Thank you for your attention. Thank you for your input. I am a better and more informed parent because of this information.
If only our superintendent could be this open and honest.

The “call-in” show on WGRM is a steady source of comedy. I am not surprised at Margie Pulley’s subpar demonstration of lack of decorum. She is definitely not a class act, never has been.
I agree with Curressia Brown. Pulley should have swallowed her envious lump in her throat and seized her teachable moment. Isn’t that part of the mantra she preaches to her teachers?
There has been little if any improvement in the public schools, city and county as far as I can see. But then I am not playing up to the crowd to keep my job.

Merrick House
I wonder how many of the members of North Greenwood Baptist Church who voted to tear down the historic Merrick Home are originally from Greenwood or even Mississippi.
They destroyed the places they came from in the name of progress, and now they are here to destroy a piece of our history in the name of what?
I wonder how many new churches will be formed from this divine decision. I guess the more, the better. The bigger they are, the harder they fall.
The folks on Grand Boulevard should take a stand. They were here years before the spin-off North Greenwood Baptist Church was formed. All the other churches in Greenwood should get ready for some new members
