Dr. Viola McCaskill
Dr. Viola Williams McCaskill has proven to be a disaster for the Leflore County School District. She is apparently not listening to her advisers in her decision-making.
The Hall administration was a disaster, too, but McCaskill promised to be different. She has not accomplished one single goal that she stated she would do.
Viola, you need to go back to the basics. I voted for you. I supported you on the promise that you would really care and make changes. Don’t make me have to apologize to the voters.
I am highly disappointed in you and your leadership.

Instead of Tim Kalich stating that he stands corrected with recent allegations of nepotism against Dr. Viola Williams McCaskill, he writes a satire stating how the state has loopholes regarding the hiring of relatives (“School loopholes encourage nepotism,” May 26).
Tim seems very angry. Is the editor a racist who’s angry because blacks have finally received an opportunity to make a decent living? It seems from his constant rants about Dr. McCaskill’s salary and her relatives like he’s angry that his relatives aren’t in the “loophole.”
Does anyone see from the Sunday edition that all of the headlines are regarding blacks in a negative light, from Dorothy Glenn to Cordarious Robinson to Dr. McCaskill?
People of Greenwood, please stop investing in this trashy newspaper. We need quality news, not garbage!
Hot graduation
I attended the eighth-grade graduation last Wednesday night at Amanda Elzy’s multipurpose building.
The road going to the building has the biggest potholes that I have ever seen in my life. The air system was not working. If it does work, it was not on.
This is so bad that the citizens of Leflore County have to put up with something like this.
I wonder what our supervisors are good for other than to get a paycheck. We can take the money that’s paid them and fix the schools.
Is this all we pay high taxes for in Leflore County?
