Unsolved murder
It is not hard to notice how vigilant the new Carroll County sheriff has been since taking office in January of this year.
Numerous articles describing the arrest of drug dealers, drunk drivers and various other criminal enterprises have appeared in this paper as well as the local newspaper in our county.
One unsolved crime that was carried over from the previous year was the brutal murder of businessman Kim Daves in his store in Black Hawk. The senseless killing of a respected, well-liked gentleman lingers heavy on the hearts and minds of those of us who knew Mr. Daves.
I’m sure Sheriff Clint Walker and other agencies of law enforcement are doing all they can to solve this horrible murder, but we as citizens need to make sure that Kim Daves is not forgotten. Someone killed a man and is still walking the streets. Makes you wonder who will be next, if it is that easy to get away with murder.

Hillary Clinton
Regarding the editorial about Donald Trump (“Does bully belong in White House?” June 3):
How about we see the same scrutiny of Hil-liar-y Clinton, her trouble with the truth, her past dealings and temperament?

There’s a new book hitting shelves later this month about the Clintons’ years in the White House. Should be a good read. It’s written by a former Secret Service employee.
It seems there are two Hillarys, one the public sees and one the public doesn’t.

Murder charge
Regarding the editorial “Illogical twist to murder charge” (June 5):
I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s had trouble figuring this out.
By the same logic, Bonnie and Clyde could have been charged with each other’s murder if either had survived their final encounter with law enforcement.
