Denton House
I recently had the opportunity to visit the Denton House, which is located next to Subway on Mississippi 7.
It is in need of ministers to come and volunteer their services. Residents are in need of spiritual advisers and leaders. Many residents consider the service to be “their” church. Some residents do not have the privilege to be with families on Sundays to attend the church of their choice. For most of the residents, this will be the highlight of their week.

Jobs for felons
I just don’t understand. How do convicted felons get a job and better themselves when no one wants to hire them.
There is no way we will survive. Can anyone give us some advice? Or do we fall back into the same old trends?
I feel like society should have something set up, especially for convicted felons, so they could get back on track and live a productive life, just like everyone else.

Life jackets
Concerning my decision to not wear a life jacket or helmet, which was criticized in “My Two Cents” by onewoman2 (June 24):
I said I don’t wear a helmet when riding a bike. I didn’t say anything about a motorcycle.
As far as her thought that taxpayer dollars pay for my medical expenses, she is wrong again. I am responsible and have health insurance that I pay for so that I don’t burden others.
Thank you very much and let me live my life and not feel guilty because I choose not to overprotect myself in every aspect of my life. When my Lord is ready for me to come home, a stinking life jacket won’t keep me here.
