I buy a gun. The government runs a background check on me. I pick up the gun.
If there is a reason I shouldn’t have a gun, then I should fail the background check. How is this my fault?

Regarding the article “‘Black Power’ call still resonates” (June 12):
Let’s see where black power has gotten us. Detroit is broke. Chicago has the highest crime rate in the nation. Closer to home, Jackson has gone to hell on a sled. And really closer to home, let us look at the Delta towns that were once thriving and are becoming ghost towns.
What do they all have in common? Black power. They all have blacks in control of the schools, governments, everything.

Donald Trump
Regarding Clarence’s comment in “My Two Cents” about Donald Trump (June 5):
Sure, you have the right to vote for your choice, but Donald Trump has no respect for anyone, not even himself.
I do not care to see him in the White House, or any other house for that matter.
Maybe to you no one has done anything in the White House, but it’s not hard to figure out what you want to say.
Try praying and prayer. Maybe you won’t be so angry.
