State flag
I’m missing something from Charles Corder’s op-ed (“A lot of waffling on the state flag, Aug. 21).
The last time I checked, we were a democracy, and that, Mr. Corder, is run by “the will of the people,” whether you like it or not.
Your opinion is just that: your opinion. It counts no more than mine. However, in a democracy “the will of the people” is what counts. If “the people” are too lazy to vote, so be it.

Regarding the article “Flag supporters: Peaceful demonstration at courthouse” (Aug. 23):
Why can't they disable the halyard so as to prevent a person from walking up to hoist a flag?
