Joe Biden
As a voter who has been watching the presidential debates, I’m still embarrassed by Vice President Joe Biden’s rude behavior.
This is not the kind of person we need for that position. He has absolutely no respect, manners or just plain common sense to exhibit the behavior he did on national television. All he did was snicker, giggle, interrupt Paul Ryan before the Republican could finish his responses and grin (guess Biden’s dentist was happy).
Where was common courtesy and just plain old-fashioned home-training? Who wants a person with no respect for his fellow man in an authority position?
If this is an example of his leadership style, then we are ready for some much-needed R and R — Romney and Ryan.

Dr. Walter Roberts
Why would anyone pay any attention to anything Dr. Walter Roberts has to say? How can he still be chairman of the Mississippi Valley State University Foundation after all these years? Does the organization have by-laws? If so, for sure they do not abide by the by-laws.
How can one organization have the same chair of a board for 25 years? That is not healthy.
Can anyone answer, or does anyone care?

Regarding Joseph Martin Stevenson’s guest column “Reshape Valley as liberal arts school” (Oct. 31):
I agree!
The job market is woefully lacking in qualified philosophers, political scientists, sociologists, poets, and experts in “women’s studies” and ancient Greek history.
Such a curriculum would definitely increase the graduation and enrollment rates.
I’m willing to bet that just anyone could get in and out with a diploma.

Carroll coach
After another dismal season, the Carroll Academy football team should set its sights on ... ummm, I dunno ... maybe a new coach, perhaps?
Go ahead, Coach Turner. Turn in the pink slip. It’s overdue.
