Fatal shooting
Regarding the article “Man charged in 2 shootings” (Jan. 28):
It’s truly amazing how quick Greenwood Deputy Police Chief Johnny Langdon can comment on shootings, even when it’s common knowledge the young man left, returned and chose to do this right in front of officers.
But when his own officers are involved, he doesn’t give us his opinion, such as on the officers who were present when a citizen alleged she was raped by one of them.
Oh, my bad. Rape is a personnel matter.

Willie Perkins
Rep. Willie Perkins recently called in on one of the Greenwood talk shows and says Mayor Carolyn McAdams gave a raise to the city workers because Perkins’ wife is running again. He said the Abrahams are telling Ms. McAdams what to do.
Greenwood is headed in the right way. I would like for Mr. Perkins to tell Greenwood what he has brought back from Jackson. We would like to know.

Regarding the article “Clay wants ‘star’ school district” (Jan. 29):
I applaud Bill Clay and the Greenwood School Board for their concern with improving the rating of our schools.
