District 3 election
Regarding the District 3 supervisor’s race in Leflore County:
Why is it that when a black man doesn’t want to be involved with racist comments, he is considered a “Sam boy” or “Uncle Tom”? Several black males and females in Greenwood are sick and tired of this black- and-white junk. We are ready to work together to make this a better county.
To all citizens, if you want to move your county forward, we need a new generation of people and ideals, instead of still drilling on the past. Willie Perkins, David Jordan and Robert Moore have so much hatred in their hearts. They are keeping our county divided.
Look around. What are they doing for your county? All surrounding counties and cities are progressing except Greenwood. As long as new businesses are being treated the way they are when they come before those guys, we will never progress.
Young people, please get out and vote. We’ve got to work together — black, green, white or purple. Come on, young adults, let’s move and shake. We need a change in Leflore County.
Stella
Mayor McAdams
Carolyn McAdams walked the streets in Baptist Town and other parts of South Greenwood looking for votes from black people. Once she became mayor, she turned around and put brick sidewalks downtown. What’s that got to do with the south side of Greenwood?
Why doesn’t she come back in the black neighborhoods and look at the broken-down houses? What happened to the jobs that she promised? Instead we got some trees planted, brick sidewalks and the list goes on.
Mayor, come out of your shell at City Hall and get busy on all parts of Greenwood, not just downtown and North Greenwood.
We need a real mayor, not one who shows up to get your vote, then goes hide downtown at The Alluvian, where the rich hang out.
