Jennifer Wilson
I think Dr. Jennifer Wilson made a great decision to step down from being the interim superintendent of the Greenwood School District.
People who have used her wanted her to be the superintendent so she could satisfy the needs of their friends and cousins.
There should be some guidelines for being a principal or a superintendent. At least five to 10 years of teaching in the classroom to be a principal. At least 10 to 15 years to be an assistant superintendent. At least 15 to 18 years to be a superintendent.
Other people would like to get their adults hired in the school system instead of certain families always wanting their relatives to get the paid positions.

Regarding the op-ed column by Troy D. Brown Sr. (“Disappointed by Wilson’s resignation,” April 15):
Excellent article, Mr. Brown. You speak the truth, but, unfortunately, there are a handful of bitter, spoiled people in this town who think “their way” is the only way. If you don’t do/think as they believe you should, they bully and stomp around making fools of themselves.
The majority of Greenwood, both black and white, are working together, much to the chagrin of these spoiled few who want to keep that pot stirred. Greenwood is moving ahead! Get used to it.

School meals
Someone needs to investigate these schools. Does the phrase “no child left behind” not mean anything?
If children are going to a school and the school serves breakfast, how can you deny them the right to eat? This goes for lunch also.
If they are in your care all day, is it not your responsibility to provide for them? Regardless of how much income the family has or doesn’t have, the children should not be denied food.
What is wrong with you people?

Ex-cop charged
Regarding the article “Former cop charged with rape” (April 16):
Where was the second officer while the first entered the home? Should it not be protocol for both to enter the home of a female?
