Garbage pickup
With that once-a-week garbage pickup in Greenwood, how many jobs were eliminated because of this move? What about bringing big companies into our city? More jobs for the people.
Open the bus station back up. Keep the train running. That’s more revenue for the city.
It is time for a change. Let’s clean house.

Editor’s note: Mayor Carolyn McAdams has said no city employee is losing a job as result of the change. Some garbage workers are being reassigned to other duties in the Public Works Department. She said that some positions will be eliminated through attrition.

Has there been a designated location for the collection of old plastic trash cans for recycling? The new city of Greenwood trash bins will surely render hundreds of smaller plastic trash cans useless.
I’m not sure if these are recyclable, but I would think they are.
Editor’s note: Anne Marie Kornelis, the city’s recycling coordinator, said old plastic trash cans can be brought to the Greenwood Leflore Recycling Center on Commerce Street.
Homosexuality
In response to the comment in “My Two Cents” by Mississippi Redneck and Proud of It (Feb. 20):
I never said I hated homosexuals. I said that accepting homosexuality and marijuana is stupid.
God calls homosexuality an abomination. God is my authority, and I choose to follow Him.
I understand that most people choose to follow their own desires and do what they want. However, they are wrong. They might not know it now, but when they face Jesus, they will then understand they have lived a foolish life.
I hope and pray you discover that God loves you and only wants what is best for you.
