City Council
Greenwood City Council members are elected to represent a certain section of a city. They are the mouthpiece of that section.
When re-electing City Council members, one must not vote according to race but performance.
When City Council members are officially voted into office, a picture should be taken of the section that they are going to represent. If there are no improvements, why should they be re-elected?
City Council members should take pride in the part of the city they represent. They should address the issue of dilapidated houses, dead cars, cracked streets, litter, grassy fields, badly kept property and odd house colors. They should seek to beautify all of the section they represent. If each City Council member had a vision to improve his or her section, Greenwood would be a beautiful place.
Change does take time, but why re-elect anyone to an office when he or she did nothing the last time?
North Greenwood should not look better than South Greenwood when all of Greenwood pays taxes.

Slain officers
I just finished reading a story where two police officers were shot and killed Saturday in New York while they were sitting in their patrol car.
I thought that this day would come. Most police officers are good, law-abiding citizens who take their job seriously. But just like any other place of employment, there are some who need to be fired and in some cases put into jail.
We have to remove the bad police from the force. If we don't do this, the police will be considered an enemy of the community.
I am afraid that this is only the beginning.
