Regarding the article “‘That wasn’t him’: Slain man’s family, friends say newspaper painted inaccurate picture” (Dec. 15):
This is very disturbing that so many young, talented individuals are violently being taken away from their family and friends. Do these murderers have any remorse?
It’s by God’s will that we all must perish from this earth one day. Please stop taking that which does not belong to you — another’s life.

On behalf of my family, we want to thank the nurses, doctors and staff for all they did when my son, Robert Elliott, was in Greenwood Leflore Hospital.
The love you showed us and the love you had for Robert was shown over and over.
To everyone who was with Robert in ICU, thanks for all your help and love showed the family. The doctors who worked so hard to save him were just wonderful to him and the family.
The Elliott family wishes you all a merry Christmas, and may God bless each one of you.
We are so lucky to have a great hospital.

Regarding the op-ed column by Sid Salter (“Barbour late convert on e-tax,” Dec. 14):
“E-tax” would simply be a waste of time, grow government payrolls and generate no more significant tax revenue than the existing use tax has.
