Katrina cottages
Regarding the article “Senate kills Katrina cottages bill” (April 5):
This is outrageous and selfish behavior from an official, but what else is new? Does Rep. Willie Perkins even try to work with others for the good of the people he was elected to serve? He has effectively ruined what many others have spent years working on.
There are some terribly disappointed folks out there who were looking forward to their cottages, but are tied up now in red tape. And for what? Now who benefits? No one.
Of course, Willie is not available to comment.

Regarding the article “Perkins redirects cottages” (April 4):
Scratching each other’s back is a well-known political game.
Willie Perkins and Robert Moore seem to think the citizens of Greenwood are deaf, dumb and blind!
Now Perkins wants to give the cottages to Three Rivers Community and Economic Development Corp., the group Moore has supported. How much will the taxpayers lose on this?
I, for one, would appreciate your rerunning the particulars of the Three Rivers debacle.
The residents of Baptist Town will never see these new homes. They will disappear just like all the other assets of Three Rivers.
