Powell hearing
There is chaos in the Greenwood School District. If you think otherwise, you have your head in the sand.
School board members, you had the same opportunity as Dr. Lorita Harris and Percy Powell to go to college, get the degrees and experience, and make the money. You chose not to.
Educators will shortly receive a pay raise in salary for the next two years. Who will your next “target” be to put a hit on?
Dr. Margie Pulley, Dr. Jennifer Wilson and Harris had this school district heading in the right direction. You blew it with your decision to hire Dr. Montrell Greene as superintendent.
Where are we now as a district? People mad, personnel on edge, and folks choosing sides.
The lid has been taken off the boiler. We know who the puppet is in this school district, and we know who is pulling the strings.
What is most sad: Our kids are not even being thought about by you as a board or Dr. Greene. It is all about getting your way. May God help our kids with state testing on the horizon, because none of you have.

Regarding the article: “GHS principal: Pulley ties cost me job” (April 23):
What? Percy Powell didn’t blame Sam or Lee Abraham for any of this? That’s hard to believe.

GHS fight scare
Regarding the article “Police show up in force after rumors of GHS brawl” (April 25):
Kudos to Greenwood High School Principal Percy Powell and his team for making the necessary authorities aware of what was possibly brewing. Thank God nothing happened and the students remained safe and secure.
In spite of recent allegations, it appears that Powell must be doing right. Thank you for ensuring the safety of our children.
