Carroll plea bargain
Regarding the article “Men arrested in thefts plan to sue” (Aug. 30):
The Carroll County Sheriff’s Department finds more than $100,000 worth of stolen property in someone’s possession, along with $137,000 in cash, and the accused gets a six-month diversion probation sentence. You’ve got to be kidding me.
Then the guilty person says he’s going to sue the county because his rights were violated. Isn’t this “plea bargain” just inviting criminals to do business in Carroll County?
Congratulations, District Attorney Doug Evans. You win this week’s Dumb Redneck Award.
