Obama endorsement
Regarding the editorial (“Obama has earned a second term,” Nov. 4):
Though I hold neither presidential candidate in as high regard as the editor, I have to agree that never has so much cash, vitriol, and extreme rancor been expended over two candidates with so few real substantive differences.
You know, folks, there are good third-party alternatives. And in Mississippi, there is zero consequence of voting for one, as we all know how this state is going to go anyway.

Barack Obama is nothing more than a dismal failure.
Open your eyes and see the utter foolishness that has taken place in the last 3½ years. This has not been because he has made mistakes but because he hates the United States and wants to see it ruined.

I am so proud of you for telling the God-honest truth.
This election has been turned into one of color, not merit or truth.

What does it say about a candidate when he is guaranteed to get the vote of every misfit in America ?

Roy Hudson
Tim Kalich’s op-ed column (“Talent searches shouldn’t be limited,” Nov. 4) refers to Roy Hudson getting passed over for Donna Oliver in 2008 for the presidency of Mississippi Valley State University.
Maybe it was because Dr. Hudson signed blank checks from the MVSU Foundation’s account, and his office assistant, Charlene Lacy, wrote $42,000 worth of checks to herself. Maybe Dr. Hudson couldn’t explain this to College Board members.
