Regarding Paula Deen being dumped by the Food Network:
Paula Deen is the newest white person about to be sacrificed on the altar of political correctness for her admitted use of the N-word.
I hope I am not the only one who sees the complete hypocrisy in this by those desiring to take her down. If you listen to a Christian couple named the Addisons on Urban Family Talk radio, 98.3 F.M., you’ll come to realize that even black folks are divided on this subject. In their own community, many use it as a friendly greeting, and it’s often used in rap music.
If the word offends, then it shouldn’t be used at all, by anyone. Back in the ’80s, I recall a young woman greeting me with “Hey, b****!” It was meant in the friendliest way. I told her to never say that to me again.
Name-calling is just that, no matter who does it.
