Maxine Harper
Regarding the article “Harper had ‘no limitations’” (June 11):
I had the privilege to have Dr. Maxine Harper as a professor as well as someone I called a friend. Guyton Hall will not be the same without her in her office always offering a smile and encouragement. Of course anyone who knew her also knows that Sonny (her service dog) will be missed also. You never saw Dr. Harper without him by her side.

Maxine Harper was a true life force who lives on through the many lives she has touched. Untold numbers of children will be blessed because of her influence on their teachers’ lives. So many are stronger in faith because of her encouragement and Christ-centered love.
Her amazing family serves to this very day as an inspiration to us all as to what love truly looks like. Thank you, precious Harper Family. Thank you.

Burrus on Bulldogs
Regard Bill Burrus’ column on Mississippi State’s baseball team (“Can the Bulldogs finally break through in CWS?” June 14):
Yes, Mr. Burrus, they can. Now I will wait to read a good story from you instead of your usual on and on and on.

Recycling
Regarding the article “Watch what you recycle” (June 16):
Chicken grease? Are you kidding me? The folks in Greenwood need to read before they try and recycle. Oxford obviously has a lot smarter folks than Greenwood does.

Cemeteries’ mowing
Regarding the comment in “My Two Cents” (June 16) by A.B. Taylor about the mowing of the grass in the Magnolia and Good Shepherd cemeteries:
Who is A.B. Taylor? You can come out to the cemeteries and put the tombstones back up.
