Confederate holiday
Regarding the article “Moore attacks Confederate holiday again” (June 28):
Seriously? The ideology of District 1 Supervisor Phil Wolfe and Chancery Clerk Sam Abraham is a prime example of what is wrong in this county. Why would District 2 Supervisor Robert Moore’s idea separate the community? And what part of this county does Phil live in where there is no discrimination? Mr. Moore is right. The same way that the majority of this entire nation sees the Confederate battle flag as a symbol of hate and oppression, you can bet the majority of the people in this county see the celebrating of the Confederate Memorial Day holiday in the same light. In my opinion, Mr. Moore’s ideas challenge the conservative leadership in this county which has the same views as the individuals that flag and holiday represent. Also, are Supervisors Wayne Self and Anjuan Brown Republicans? I've noticed they always vote along with the Republican Wolfe and have a lot of the same views Abraham, who is now a Republican.

Bravo! Well said. I asked for a sign and I just got it.

Ole Miss outlook
Regarding Bill Burrus’ column “Ole Miss has the talent to win SEC” (June 28):
Bill, I know you're an Ole Miss fan, but how can you be so optimistic about the 2015 season? Ole Miss has question marks all over the field. Be prepared for an interesting season!
