Stewart parole
Regarding the article “Man sentenced in ’95 killings paroled” (Oct. 24):
What an injustice to the families and friends of Everett Curry and Eddie Brooks.
Their families and friends were left with big holes in their lives because of the violent acts of these two young men in 1995. Just like he has served 24 years in prison, so have their families and friends.
Curry was taken from two small kids and a wife, and each of them had to live the last 24 years without him. Releasing Paul Murrell Stewart is adding salt to a wound that has never healed for these families. Can these families be released from the pains in which they have had to endure? No, they cannot. Therefore, Stewart shouldn’t be given freedom from his actions, no matter how impeccable his prison record is nor how many years he has served.
P.T. Staples
Regarding the article “Contractor worked as long as he could” (Oct. 22):
Paul Staples was a gentle soul and a pleasure to deal with and be around. He was a very good, genuine person and a man of his word who was always willing and ready to help others.
Paul Staples was a great guy.

I loved P.T. Staples like a second daddy. I have known him all my life and hardly saw him without a smile on his face. His work ethic was one to strive for.

Trump visit
When Donald Trump comes to Mississippi to campaign for Tate Reeves, will Reeves be ashamed to take his wife and children to the rally to hear Trump speak? I bet he is struggling with that decision, because he knows that Trump is unfit and unqualified to be president and will say and do anything, no matter how disgusting it may be.
All of the so-called evangelicals who will be there should be on stage with Trump. Their mask has been removed.
