GHS football
This is my 25th year going to Greenwood High football games. It is one of the most exciting teams I have seen play. It is not getting respect throughout the state.
Marquiss Spencer is a top player in the state and is not on an all-star team. Spencer has 64 tackles and 11 sacks in seven games. He averages 9.1 tackles a game. Spencer is also the punter on the team. His average is 42.9 yards a punt.
Another good player on the team is Antwoine Williams. He has 57 tackles for an average of 8.1 a game.
Greenwood High averages 40.3 points, 399 yards and six touchdowns a game.
The team is not ranked in The Clarion-Ledger. Greenwood is 6-1, but a team that is 4-3, St. Stanislaus, is. In my opinion, the rankings are a joke.

Clinton emails
You were wrong in your editorial (“Sanders wrong: The emails matter,” Oct. 14). I say that the emails do not matter. This is what matters.
Secretary Clinton recognizes the Republicans as an enemy of this country’s working and middle class, and she is willing to fight them with everything that she has. The Republicans destroy the ability of workers to get a fair wage by destroying unions, try to take working Americans’ health care away, preach hate against Americans (even ones in their party), want to take the benefits away for Americans that they have paid for and earned and call them entitlements, and want to fight endless wars.
What make this so sad is that the Republicans think this qualifies one to be president. They took advantage of President Obama because he tried to work with them. Mrs. Clinton will not make that mistake. My check to her is in the mail.

Fuel tax
Regarding the editorial “Candidates sadly unified on fuel tax” (Oct. 15):
It is time to raise the fuel tax. or go back to the horse-and-wagon days. The roads and streets in Mississippi are the worst in the nation.
